Membership will help the UAE’s only federally licensed lottery to collaborate worldwide with operators and suppliers.

The UAE Lottery, operated by The Game LLC, has been accepted as a member of the World Lottery Association (WLA).

WLA membership will help The UAE Lottery facilitate responsible gaming, security, innovation, combating illegal operators, and maintaining integrity in sport.

These topics have been high on The UAE Lottery’s agenda since it launched and received a license from the UAE’s General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) in 2024.

“Becoming a WLA member is a proud milestone for The UAE Lottery, which is committed to operational excellence, innovation in player experience, and advancing the regional regulated gaming sector,” said Bishop Woosley, Director of Lottery Operations at The Game LLC.

“The UAE Lottery's acceptance as a member highlights the effectiveness of our efforts to facilitate the development of a commercial regulated gaming sector specifically tailored for the UAE, while positioning the country as a proactive contributor to the WLA's global collaboration initiatives," said GCGRA CEO Kevin Mullally.

The UAE Lottery remains the only licensed lottery product in the UAE and is the first of its kind in the Gulf region.

The GCRA has also issued licenses to a variety of gaming related vendors in addition to the joint venture behind the development of Wynn Al Marjan Island, the UAE’s first casino resort.

It has yet to issue any licenses to UAE online casinos or betting sites but information on its website suggests that it intends to license these products in the future.
