The UK-headquartered company becomes the UAE's seventh gaming-related vendor licensee.

International Game Technologies (IGT), which provides lottery services and produces other gambling technology, has been awarded a license to operate in the UAE.

It joins a growing list of companies now authorised by the UAE's General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) to do business in commercial gaming within the country.

Seven gaming-related vendors now hold GCGRA licenses in addition to The Game LLC, which runs the UAE's official lottery, and Island 3 AMI FZ-LLC, the company developing Wynn Al Marjan Island resort in Ras Al Khaimah.

IGT employs more than 10,000 people worldwide and holds more than 500 different gaming licenses from various state, provincial, national, tribal and other governmental gaming agencies.

In July 2024, the company agreed to sell its gaming and digital business to affiliates of private equity firm Apollo Global Management Inc. for US$4.05 billion.

The sale is expected to be completed in Q3 2025, after which the current IGT will focus on its lottery services products.
