17 organizations have now secured gaming related vendor licenses in the UAE.

The UAE’s commercial gaming regulator, the GCGRA, has granted a gaming related vendor license to sports technology company Sportradar.

The license enables Sportradar to supply gaming equipment or related goods and services in the country.

“Sportradar looks forward to bringing its 20+ year expertise and proprietary sports technology to operators and clients in the region,” said the company in a statement on its website.

Sportrader describes itself as ‘positioned at the intersection of the sports, media and betting industries’. It provides data and technology services to online betting sites, media companies, and sports leagues and federations.

The Swiss-headquartered firm is the 17th recipient of a GCGRA Gaming-Related Vendor license in the UAE.

The developers of Wynn Al Marjan Island integrated resort are currently the only Land-Based Gaming Facilities Licensee and The Game LLC - which operates The UAE Lottery - is the only Lottery Licensee.

No Internet Gaming or Sports Wagering licenses have been granted by the GCGRA to date, but the entry of Sportradar and live casino studio Live88 into the market (in addition to The UAE Lottery’s expansion into instant win real online games) suggest that the first licensees in these categories may not be far away.
